Hi, I’m Jen — your Storyelling & Brand Content expert.

I capture and create visual stories through photography, branding, and content that help businesses connect deeply with their audience and communicate who they are with purpose.

ABOUT JEN

I grew up on the West Coast, surrounded by ocean air, old-growth forests, and endless trails. Those early years outdoors sparked my love for visual storytelling. I learned to chase light, notice small details, and appreciate beauty in quiet, ordinary moments. The landscape has shaped how I see the world and continues to influence my work today.

My twenties took me across Canada and around the world, including Europe, the South Pacific, and South America. Each place expanded my perspective and strengthened my appreciation for the stories people carry and the experiences that shape them.

In 2013, I became a firefighter and have been proud to serve with Rocky View County Fire Services. That role taught me resilience, teamwork, and the importance of showing up for people. In 2020, I started Wild Prairie Honey after helping my kids learn about bees. It grew into a well-loved local brand, bringing me even closer to the creative world. When I developed a severe bee allergy in 2024, I stepped away from beekeeping and leaned fully into photography, design, and creative direction.

Around that time, I began collaborating with Janna on artwork for Wild Prairie Honey and later on a web design project for the Rocky View County Firefighters Association. Working together felt easy and aligned from the start. Our strengths fit together in a way that makes every project better. That experience eventually led us to build West of Ordinary Creative as a shared studio rooted in intention, clarity, and meaningful storytelling.

Today, I bring together brand photography, visual identity work, and content direction to help businesses show up authentically and confidently. I approach every project with curiosity, care, and a genuine desire to help people feel understood in their brand.

I live in Chestermere with my husband and our two kids. We love exploring new places, spending time outdoors, and chasing sunsets wherever we find them. Those moments continue to inspire the work I create every day.
